StudyDog believes that all children can learn to read given help and encouragement. Helping all children have a chance to learn to read is a priority at StudyDog. How does StudyDog determine low-income? The child must be eligible for the National Free Lunch Program (If you do not know if your child is on the eligible list, ask your child's teacher). How can my child get StudyDog for FREE? The only way is to have your child's teacher become a StudyDog Reading Angel and, once accepted as a Reading Angel, the teacher notifies StudyDog that 1) Your child would benefit from a scientifically developed reading program and 2) Your child is officially listed as eligible for the National Free Lunch Program. Once notified, StudyDog will send StudyDog to your home. Do I have to go through a teacher to get StudyDog for my child? Yes, Unfortunately, in the past some families who are not low-income have abused this privilege. Does my child's teacher have to be from a public school? No. Any state-accredited school is OK. Any other schools do not qualify for this program. How do I tell our teacher about StudyDog? Either have your child's teacher go to www.studydog.com and apply to become a Reading Angel. Or, you can print the application and hand it to the teacher to complete. | |||||||||
