Management Deme Clainos, President and CEO In 2001, Mr. Clainos founded StudyDog with the mission of helping struggling readers learn to read better, thereby improving a child's chance of success. His background includes leadership positions in technology organizations such as Apple Computer and Hewlett Packard, but he has always been very interested in educational issues. Passionate about the learning sciences and child development, Mr. Clainos understands how today's parents feel and what assistance they need. He received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering at the United States Military Academy (West Point) and Masters degrees in Systems Engineering and Marketing at the University of Arizona. Dr. Dean Arrasmith, Ed.D., Chief Learning Officer Dr. Arrasmith has earned an Ed.D. from the University of Massachusetts and, for the last 12 years, he worked for the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory, where he directed the Labs' Assessment Division and developed the conceptual model for the Traits of an Effective Reader. The Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory (NWREL) provides research and development assistance to the region's education system, by providing equitable, high quality educational programs. NWREL is part of a national network of 10 educational laboratories funded by the U.S. Department of Education. In addition to his experience in building reading skills in children, Dr. Arrasmith also has extensive experience in math and writing. Peter Rowe, CTO and VP of Development Peter oversees and directs StudyDog's design and development teams. Peter was formerly co-founder of Interactive Training Technologies - a developer of Learning Management Systems. Peter was also a co-founder of Zeeks.com, a Top 15 children's Web site, and Pierian Spring Software, an educational software publisher. Under his technical leadership, Zeeks.com won both an EMMA Award and a NewMedia Invision Gold Award for outstanding Web site design for children. Peter also produced 17 award-winning children's multimedia software titles while head of development at Pierian Spring. He holds a U.S. patent for the interactive delivery of video and audio in computer-based training, and has worked in partnership with companies such as AOL, Sony, General Mills, and Warner Bothers. Peter has an engineering degree from the University of Limerick, Ireland. Advisory Board Dr. Roland Good, Ph.D in School Psychology. Dr. Good, a nationally recognized reading expert, is an Associate Professor in the College of Education at the University of Oregon. He has demonstrated scholastic leadership in the National Association of School Psychologists, American Psychological Society, American Educational Research Association and the International School Psychology Association. Dr. Good has authored and presented numerous papers and research reports. Dr. Charles Williams, Ed.D. Dr. Williams has extensive experience in the Educational Psychological field from working within the educational environment to publishing companies as an expert in Clinical Measurement. He is a recognized expert in the areas of assessment and remediation of sophisticated learning skills and solution focused, cognitive therapy. Dr. George Paajanen, Ph.D in Psychology Dr. Paajanen has 25 years of experience as an Industrial Psychologist, specializing in psychological assessment, personality research, and product development. During his 20-year tenure at Personnel Decisions, International, he authored the PDI Employment Inventories, extended the product line, developed the first delivery systems, and created the department to manage it. Dr. Paajanen is responsible for over forty million administrations of his assessments. His education, from the University of Minnesota, includes B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees. Greg Drew Mr. Drew is the President & CEO of WebTrends. Previously, he was the founder and CEO of 800.com, where he pioneered on-line marketing of electronic products to consumers.
