StudyDog Features

StudyDog's research-based, proven program has the following features:

1. StudyDog Targets Beginning Grades

The NRP found that children as young as four years of age benefited from instruction in phonemic awareness and the alphabetic principle when the instruction was presented in an interesting and entertaining, albeit systematic manner.

2. StudyDog Begins with a Diagnostic Reading Test*

Immediately after purchase, the parent will gain access to their child’s initial reading skills diagnostic test. Once the child is ready, the test is administered online and when the test is complete, the results of the test are sent to StudyDog. The test is about 30 minutes long and comes in two 15-minute segments that may be taken independently.

3. StudyDog Creates a Customized Program for your Child*

Once the initial test is complete, StudyDog assesses the results and creates a customized program for your child.

4. StudyDog Delivers Reading Lessons to your Child*

Once StudyDog has created your child’s customized course, your child can begin working on the 15-minute lessons, one-on-one, at any time. We recommend 3 to 5 lessons per week, about one per working day.

5. StudyDog Reading Lessons are Adaptive*

As your child moves through the StudyDog program, the lessons adapt to their progress and knowledge of your child. Extra curriculum or practice time is presented where needed and less when the student demonstrates proficiency in a skill. In this way, each student learns in the most effective way possible and is always challenged at the correct level.

6. Your Child Sticks with StudyDog*

We don't make this stuff up -- Because of the adventure story and quest, the fun characters and high quality animations, the game play, and the ability to earn points and use them to redeem toys at the Toy Store, your child will stick with StudyDog.
